Wild Rose Newsletter June 2022
The grass is green, the birds are singing, and the residents could not love it more! It is so wonderful to see and hear the Wild Rose family outside in the sunshine, laughing and chattering away. With summer just around the corner, we are looking forward to live entertainment and outdoor socials! June is shaping up to be a busy month at Wild Rose and we could not be happier.
We are excited to announce that the Wild Rose Team has a new General Manager, Nadine Ternovoy. Nadine started her journey with Optima Living's Wild Rose on May 30th and will provide day-to-day operational support.
Nadine studied at NAIT in Food Service and Nutrition Management, and brings 25 years of experience in residential care settings along with leadership and health and safety experience. Nadine is skilled and experienced in the day-to-day operation of a seniors' community, providing leadership for team development and an understanding of a service-based culture of excellence.
Nothing makes Nadine happier than building strong relationships, and that is why she enjoys spending time with her two teenage sons, husband, and family. Nadine also likes reading and going for daily walks outside, and has been known to dabble in baking and cake decorating.
Wild Rose welcomes Nadine home!
Recreation Ramblings |
This month’s activities include planting flowers, one on one art and a delightful meal for all the residents on Fathers’ Day!
This month we will celebrate six residents’ birthdays! We also have two team members who will be celebrating their 50th birthdays this month, which we are also excited to celebrate. There are five Wild Rose team members who will all be turning 50 this year! Lastly, we also had a couple who recently celebrated 66 years of marriage. We've enjoyed all of the celebrations, which always bring light and fun into our community.
Health and Wellness Update
Wild Rose is currently on outbreak status. The residents who have been affected are in isolation and the Wild Rose team is meticulously cleaning and remaining vigilant in our fight against the virus. We will continue to screen all visitors entering the building, and continuous masking by all team members and visitors must take place. The nursing team diligently provides the best possible care to the residents here at Wild Rose, and we are so proud of the team for their dedication and hard work. Our doctor continues to visit residents on Wednesdays, and if you have any concerns you would like addressed with the care team, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at

Chef's Chat
Our residents are truly enjoying the spring and summer menus that we’ve rolled out. Being able to offer more seasonal fruit and vegetable selections has been a great delight. We're excited about a special steak dinner on Fathers’ Day for all the residents to enjoy. The team in the kitchen truly enjoy when we get to put on special dinners as we get to see the delight and joy in the residents' faces.
Happy Hour Trolley
An outbreak doesn't stop our residents from having fun with the happy hour spirit trolley. To see our staff and residents enjoy a dance party, watch this short video on YouTube!
Environmental Services
Our grounds have been beautified for the start of the summer season! Our residents have been itching to get out and enjoy the back patio, and we are just as excited as they are to be enjoying the summer sunshine. Please try to remember that when parking at Wild Rose, we ask that you do not park in the spot reserved for “Tour Parking." If you have a family member that requires assistance or closer parking, please feel free to drive up to our front door and assist them into the building before moving your car to a parking stall. We do ask that you advise the front reception if you have parked briefly in the front in the event of an emergency.
